Investigations are initiated by concerns for rule violations or complaints about employees. Sometimes the subject employee then becomes a “victim” of the investigation. Improper investigations can result in liability for the organization and the investigators themselves. Several areas of law can generate that liability. This program will cover the major danger areas and avoiding organizational and personal liability for “investigative malpractice,” negligence, or wrongful acts—when you were “just trying to do your job.” Also included are some “shots of immunity” which can give you powerful defenses and protections.
